For the die-hard fan. As important relationships fell apart between 2000 and 2002, I ran to music as a survival mechanism. While writing about my feelings, I was simultaneously learning new things about recording and songwriting. It was an intensely creative time. Here I reveal 13 songs which were demos from this period never meant for the public.

You're "invited to this masquerade." But here I am without a mask. These songs are raw with minimal production. Yes... I know there are errors, limitations, and production failures. I ask that you look for the gems that make these demos unique. There are emotive first takes. There are turns of phrase which I love. There is honesty which I'd rarely share. There are sound experiments which will pull your ears in new directions. Most of these songs were never performed live. BUT... "Goodbye San Francisco" remains one of my all-time favorite songs and it has made occasional appearances in my live sets.

I have used my modern mastering techniques to make these raw takes as listenable as possible. But you may hear limitations from the original recordings. I hope you find something to love. ~ tlh
